We are a lovely group of people based in Kinsale and go by the name of The KRD Community Association Ltd – KRD stands for Kinsale Rural District/Development (sometimes we agrue over that one). Most of the gang give up their time on a voluntry basis in order to help me (Bronwyn, the paid one) make Kinsale a better place!!
At the moment we are very busy as we have just started the 1st phase of our current project – Saile – Kinsale Community Sports & Leisure Project! This we are very very excited about as it has taken 9 years, yes folks 9 long years of lobbying, begging, annoying, hounding even, the various powers that be to give us land for a community sports & recreation centre… and well it worked because here we are 9 years later with a 7.5 arce site, full planning permission, money (a bit we could do with more, hint hint) loads of idea’s, enthusism, good will and a construction team on site building as you read, the 1st phase of our fantastic project (yes our project is fantastic) which is an all weather sports facility… pitchs and what not!
